Jai Chanda '92

Director

Jai Chanda is the Head of Fundraising and Distribution for Fidelity Charitable, the largest public charity in the U.S. Jai is responsible for leading the strategic direction, alignment, and execution of fundraising efforts at Fidelity Charitable. His national team educates advisors and their clients on current charitable planning trends and strategies, along with the benefits of leveraging Fidelity’s donor-advised fund program. He also oversees Fidelity Philanthropic Consulting, which helps companies, families, and institutions engage in effective and meaningful philanthropy.

Prior his current role, Jai was the Chief Development Officer of National Philanthropic Trust (NPT), the largest independent donor-advised fund in the U.S. at over $43B in assets. Jai was responsible for fundraising, business development, institutional relationships, marketing and strategic partnerships at NPT. Most recently, Jai was a Managing Director at State Street Corporation and was responsible for the largest relationships at the bank as a Global Relationship Manager. Previously, he was Head of Asset Owner Sales for North America.


Prior to those roles, he was Head of the Charitable and OCIO Fiduciary Advisory divisions at State Street Global Advisors. Jai also helped lead the Diversity & Inclusion Council for North America for State Street Global Advisors. Prior to joining State Street Global Advisors in 2013, he spent 20 years at Fidelity Investments in various institutional capital markets, sales and relationship management roles.


Jai earned an M.B.A. from Boston University and a B.S. from the University of Vermont. Jai is on the Trustee Advisory Board for Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He is also a former board of trustee member at The Williston School. He formerly held FINRA Series 7, 24 and 63 licenses.


Jai lives in Beverly, Massachusetts, with his wife, Sara. They have four children – Anjali (Vanderbilt University ’23), Ariane (Clemson University ’25), Nolan (University of Vermont ’26) and Nicholas (Beverly High School ’26).
