Creating a Scholarship
Scholarship donors make student dreams possible
Why Create a Scholarship?
92% of students receive scholarships or financial aid, so there is tremendous need. Currently, many students' financial needs are not met.
This is where generous donors come in.
Through their support, donors open doors. In so doing, students' lives are forever shaped by their experiences on campus, their passionate professors, lifelong friendships, and high-impact practices. When they leave UVM, they are forces for good wherever their work and passions take them.
Current-Use Scholarship
How it Works: Make a pledge of $10,000 or more, paid over 1-5 years. Each year you provide funding; your scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student.
Your Impact: Helping more students become Catamounts and graduate with a life-changing education. A few thousand dollars can often be the difference for a student.
Endowed Scholarship
How it Works: Make a pledge of $50,000 or more, paid over 1-5 years. Your dollars are invested in UVM"s $1B+ endowment and will grow significantly over time.
Your Impact: Once fully funded, your scholarship will support students in perpetuity - allowing you to leave a permanent mark at UVM.
Legacy Scholarship
How it Works: Leave a gift in your Will or designate UVM as a beneficiary of a financial account - allowing you to leave a lasting legacy at UVM.
Your Impact: Whether your legacy scholarship is current-use or endowed, you will be helping students thrive at UVM for years to come.
