
Lisa Aserkoff Kanter '92
Director
Lisa Kanter is currently a stay-at-home mom after spending 15 years working as a lawyer in the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of the General Counsel, where she drafted legislation and regulations related to a wide variety of aspects related to education. She currently serves on the DC regional board of the nonprofit Only Make Believe, an organization that creates interactive theatre with children in hospitals, special education schools, and care facilities to engage children with medically fragile conditions and developmental disabilities, fostering social and emotional growth.
Lisa earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and English in 1992 and her law degree from Washinton University in St. Louis in 1996. Lisa currently lives in Bethesda, MD, with her husband, Jonathan, also a lawyer, who most recently was the Assistant Attorney General for Antitrust during the Biden Administration. They have a daughter, Abby, who is a senior at Skidmore College and a son, Ben, who is a senior at Georgetown Day School in Washington, DC. Lisa’s father, Ralph Aserkoff, MD, graduated from the UVM Larner College of Medicine in 1962.
