
Michael Brown '73
Director
Michael Brown is the Executive Director and founder of The Black Rock Foundation. The Black Rock Foundation is a nonprofit organization committed to assisting the underserved people of the Bridgeport Connecticut community. Michael has previously served the UVM Admission office as a regional volunteer in recruiting and welcoming UVM students and their families.
Michael spent his entire professional career in intercollegiate athletics. Immediately after graduation he was appointed assistant basketball coach at UVM. He subsequently moved on to assistant coaching positions at University of Cincinnati, University of San Francisco, Kansas University, Mississippi State University, Seton Hall University, West Virginia University and Fordham University. Michael was the head basketball coach at Central Connecticut State University and Hunter College in New York City.
Michael presently lives in Black Rock Connecticut with his son Robinson who is a graduate student at the Parsons School of Design in New York City.
