Mindy Menkowitz Scheier '93

2021

Since starting the Runway of Dreams Foundation in 2014, Mindy has been at the forefront of inclusion and acceptance efforts for people with disabilities.

The partnerships she established in the fashion industry and with clothing manufacturers through the Runway of Dreams Foundation have been transformative in providing adaptive clothing for people with disabilities' the largest minority population segment in the world. Mindy has overseen the growth of the Runway of Dreams Foundation as a non-profit organization that now awards scholarships and summer internships to students advancing adaptive design and to those with disabilities who wish to pursue careers in fashion.

The organization also offers wardrobe grants to organizations serving people with disabilities for the purchase of adaptive apparel. In response to requests received by the Runway of Dreams Foundation from numerous brands and industries with interests in connecting with people with disabilities, Mindy founded Gamut Talent Management in 2019. Gamut's services are aimed at broadly connecting companies with people with disabilities as a target audience. The firm provides individualized talent management representation for television, film, or commercial appearances, as well as product development consultation.

Mindy was a fashion design major at UVM. She graduated with honors in 1993 and was a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society. She and her husband Greg live in Livingston, NJ.
