Career Committee

Purpose

This committee leverages the support and capacity of the UVM alumni community to enhance student career preparation and placement through events and social media programs. See below for specific examples of our initiatives.

• This committee is highly focused on amplifying the University’s networking platform, UVM Connect. Each member is expected to offer mentor support and engage with students on how career programming can best support them.

• This committee is dedicated to driving career engagement among alumni and providing access to career opportunities for UVM students.

• This committee helps to support, and often participates in, University career events such as professional development series, career fairs, networking nights, and alumni panels.

Career Committee Commitments

• Complete your UVM Connect profile and indicate the ways you are willing to mentor a student.

• Connect with 2 to 3 students on UVM Connect within your career interest group or other UVM affinity.

• Engage on UVM connect monthly by posting on the feed, adding to the jobs board, messaging a student or alumni in need of career support, or engaging on others’ feed posts.

• Participate in or attend one career-focused University event as part of the ‘attend a minimum of three programs’ all-volunteer metric.
