Named to honor the late Barry Stone '56, the Barry Stone Fund was established in December 2024 to support men's basketball recruitment and retention. Barry embraced a lifelong connection to his alma mater and served as Chair of several important UVM Committees and Boards.

Barry loved the UVM Men's Basketball team and was awarded the UVM Athletic Department Award in 1986 for his incredible support. He was a founding executive committee member of the UVM Victory Club and a key fundraiser for many university projects.

"We are really excited to start this fund in Barry Stone's name," said Coach John Becker. "Barry was a player, supporter and fan of UVM basketball for over 60 years. This fund is a critical part of helping us stay competitive in the changing landscape of college athletics."
