University of Vermont Foundation President and CEO Monica Delisa has resigned to pursue other opportunities effective July 28, 2025.
To ensure continuity of Foundation operations and focused attention on advancing UVM’s mission during the transition, the Foundation’s Board of Directors has appointed Kathleen Kelleher ’83 as interim president and CEO. Kelleher, currently vice president and chief development officer, is an accomplished manager and proven fundraiser with over 30 years of experience at the University and the UVM Foundation. She has previously served as an interim leader for UVM’s philanthropy and alumni relations programs.
“Kathleen is already seen as a key leader within the Foundation, across campus, and among UVM’s alumni and friends,” said Robert Brennan ’83, chair of the UVM Foundation Board of Directors. “Her broad experience and deep commitment to UVM will ensure that the Foundation’s important work continues without interruption during this transition,”
“Monica leaves the Foundation on a path for continued success and believes this is the right moment to empower the Foundation Board to identify a strong partner for new University President Marlene Tromp as she defines and advances her vision for UVM,” said Brennan. “We are deeply grateful for her contributions to the UVM Foundation and the University of Vermont.”
The UVM Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 2011 to manage private support for the University of Vermont, one of the nation’s premier universities for research and community impact. The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors that includes 25 elected directors and 4 ex officio directors. The Board of Directors will conduct a national search to identify the next president and CEO.
The UVM Foundation remains fully committed to advancing the University of Vermont’s mission by facilitating philanthropy and fostering volunteerism that supports students and faculty members, and strengthens the University’s impact on Vermont and the world beyond.
