More than 75 members of the UVM community hit the slopes once again for our annual Wachusett Ski & Ride event on January 29, 2025!
From early morning runs to a "green and golden-hour" toast in the Maple Room, alumni, friends, and families came together for a day filled with fresh powder, great company, and plenty of Catamount pride.
With a mix of seasoned skiers, first-timers, après-ski enthusiasts, Catamount couples, and UVM siblings, the day was all about connection and community (and plenty of their famous cider donuts). Attendees enjoyed a beautiful day with blue skies, a few snow squalls, friendly competition, and warm moments by the fire between runs.
The Challenger Dual GS NASTAR course was also set up and attracted many skiers in the area, including former UVM Ski Team member Margaret Vaughn ’79.
That evening, a UVM reception took place in the Maple Room of the Base Lodge. Featuring a special UVM toast given by College of Education and Social Services Dean Katie Shepherd, her remarks brought everyone together to celebrate our shared love of adventure, the outdoors, and Catamount camaraderie.
Adding to the excitement, Wachusett Mountain offered a door prize of an exclusive slopeside experience. The prize included a day or evening in one of the private suites, a slopeside living room, and 12 free ski lift tickets. The lucky winner was Megan Higgins ’97.
Whether attendees carved through the trails or simply soaked up the mountain atmosphere, it was a day to remember. Thank you to the Crowley family for hosting the event and to everyone who joined us!
