Howard Averill '85

Howard Averill most recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Time Warner Inc., a global media and entertainment company based in New York, until his retirement in 2018.

Earlier in his career, Howard held a variety of CFO roles at NBC Universal in New York and Los Angeles. Before that, he worked in strategic planning at PepsiCo.  Howard is currently an independent board director and chairman of the Campbell Soup Company audit committee. Howard grew up in Burlington and graduated from UVM with a BA in Economics.  He then worked for Arthur Andersen & Co in Boston, where he obtained his CPA, before earning an MBA in Finance from the University of North Carolina–Chapel Hill.

He resides in South Salem, New York, with his wife, Sharon Kuwata Averill. They have three daughters.
