Whit Wagner is the Founder & CEO of Clear Brook Advisors, Inc., a Boston-based registered investment advisor that oversees $750 million of client assets allocated to alternatives. Clear Brook advises individuals, family offices, endowments and wealth management firms on the identification, recommendation and monitoring of a wide range of private fund managers which invest in private equity, venture capital, real estate, oil and gas and agricultural assets.


Whit began his career in 1978 in the corporate banking department of Chemical Bank, in New York. From 1983 to 2000, he was a partner at Three Cities Research, Inc.. a private equity fund in New York that was founded by the Bemberg Group, a French-Argentine family. Whit is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Brown Brothers Harriman mutual fund complex; is a Governor of the United States Seniors Golf Association; and is a member of the Board of Advisors of the Thompson Island Outward Bound Education Center.


Whit graduated from the University of Vermont in 1978 with a BA in Political Science. He served on the Board of Advisors of the UVM Business School from 2012-2017. He joined the UVM Foundation Leadership Council in 2015 and became a Director in July 2018. He is a member of the UVM Foundation Finance & Investment Committee. He lives in Boston, Massachusetts with his wife Helen.
