How do I create a matching gift?
Matching gifts can often double or triple the impact of your giving and provide much needed and additional support to UVM students, faculty, and programs. Countless companies offer matching gift programs, with some companies even matching gifts of spouses and retired employees.
Matching gifts go to the very same UVM Foundation funds you designate your gifts to unless company policies require otherwise. Matching gifts can also count toward your membership in gift clubs.
The Process
1. Find out if your company is eligible.
Talk to your employer or company about their matching gift options to determine if they are eligible for our matching gift program.
2. Ask your employer for a matching gift form.
Reach out to your employer for their matching gift form. Complete this form and, importantly, be sure to sign it.
3. Make your gift.
Send your gift with the signed, completed form and we will do the rest.
4. Sit back.
Give us a week to process your gift. Expect to hear confirmation of your gift within 5 - 7 business days. We are so grateful.
How a matching gift works
If your company is eligible, request a matching gift form from your employer, and send it completed and signed along with your gift. We will take care of the rest.
