Give Through a Family Foundation
Some gifts make an impact today. Others shape the future.
Why give thorough a family foundation?
Family foundations offer a powerful avenue for philanthropy, allowing families to create a lasting impact at the UVM. There are many possibilities to support at UVM, including contributing to or creating student scholarships, creating new permanent endowments, supporting academic departments and programs, and much more.
Canadian family foundations, please note we have a separate process for you than that outlined below. Rather than making a gift through the University of Vermont Foundation, these foundations give directly to the University (EIN: 03-179440).
The Process
1. Establish giving priorities
Identify a cause at UVM that matches with your family's values and interests. We are happy to talk through this with you, should you like some guidance.
2. Determine grant amounts
Decide how much your foundation will allocate to support your interest and whether it will be a one-time gift or a pledge paid over multiple years.
3. Contact us
Reach out to our team to discuss your foundation's philanthropic goals and how we can partner together to make a difference.
4. Execute the grants
Once you've determined your giving strategy, our team will assist you in facilitating grants to support the University of Vermont according to your preferences.
